Chapter Event ASMP New England welcomes Thomas Werner author of the book "The Fashion Image" Bloomsbury Publishing, London. Thomas will be joined by contributing photographer Diggy Lloyd (PUMA, Levis, PopSugar), and New York based photo editor/producer Kelsey O'Brien (Marie Claire Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler) to discuss the art and production of photography, and the logistics of book publishing.

Great fashion photography reflects and shapes the era in which it is made, from wartime to economic booms, fashion design and the imagery that defines it have shown us where our boundaries lie and how we seek to embrace or break them. A fashion photograph is about lifestyle, desire, fantasy, sensuality, and, unavoidably, the state of commerce. Thomas will share his insight into the fashion industry and the ways in which you can create innovative shoot concepts to help you achieve your goals.

We all love to be published, whether it is in a print magazine, online, or in a book. Thomas, Diggy Lloyd, and Kelsey O'Brien will discuss the ins and outs being published in each of these contexts. From the initial proposal and the process of approval, to writing, licensing, proofs, and the execution of the final project they will answer your questions regarding commercial photography in a variety of contexts.

Regardless of the type photography you shoot and how you share it, "The Fashion Image" panel will provide valuable insights on how to create effective imagery and share it comprehensively for greatest impact.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Nick Sabia from Hunt?s will have a table with some gear you?ll want to check out.

We will silent auction a Workbook Online Portfolio ($2000 value) and a Streetwalker Harddrive V2 bag ($230 value). And, we will raffle off a Bob Korn 20x30 image on 24x34 paper ($130 value), four $50 gift cards from Hunt's, and one $150 gift certificate from Maryelle Artistry on a full 8 hour day which is normally $800.
